Curriculum Overview

The core curriculum at Columbia consists of two full-term and eight half-term classes covering topics such as Managerial Statistics, Marketing, Strategy Formulation, Operations Management, and the Global Economic Environment.

These classes are designed to give students both a theoretical background in vital business topics, and the practical tools they need to apply the lessons to their careers.

Columbia’s career-focused program offers a couple of unique features that allow students who are already employed to get the most out of their time at the school.

One of these is January entry, which allows students to enter the program a semester later than the rest of their cohort.

By taking summer courses, students sacrifice the opportunity for an internship but are able to complete all degree requirements in a shorter period of time.

Students are also able to replace core curriculum courses with electives by proving mastery of the topic through an exemption exam.
