B-School News: New EMBA-Americas Program at Columbia Business School
Are you trying to decide between a

Many of the top business schools offer executive MBA programs that provide applicants with the flexibility they require in regards to time, location and work load.
In this article, we’ll introduce you to a few executive MBA programs at Columbia Business School.
EMBA-Americas
Columbia’s new executive MBA program, EMBA-Americas, is actually their fourth (EMBA-New York, EMBA-Global Americas and Europe, and EMBA Global Asia are the other Columbia executive MBA programs).
The EMBA-Americas program will be geared towards executives located in the US, Canada and Latin America and will offer a similar curriculum as Columbia’s other MBA programs.
The key features of the EMBA-Americas program will include:
1. 20-month program over five semesters.
2. 1 class meeting each month primarily in New York City.
3. 1 weeklong meeting in California and another in Latin America during the 1st year.
4. Access to elective courses from Columbia’s traditional MBA program and EMBA New York program.
If you’re interested in applying for the inaugural class, which begins in January 2013, applications will open on July 1, 2012.
Admissions decisions will be made on a rolling basis and the final admissions deadline will be October 31, 2012.

EMBA Global Americas and Europe
The EMBA Global Americas and Europe program is designed to be a challenging executive MBA program for executives in Europe, North America and South America.
The program is really a joint MBA program between Columbia Business School and London Business School.
If you’re interested in an executive MBA and you’re looking to get experience in both New York and London during your MBA program, this might be an interesting option.
Students in the EMBA Global Americas and Europe program receive two MBA degrees – one from Columbia and one from LBS and have access to alumni of both schools.
The key features of the EMBA Global Americas and Europe program include:
1. 20-month program with one intake in May.
2. class meetings over several consecutive days each month in New York City and London
3. Faculty from both schools equally involved in teach courses in each city
4. Access to elective courses from each school and the University of Hong Kong Business School
5. Ability to study in one additional international city as part of the program

EMBA Global Asia
Created in 2009, Columbia’s EMBA Global Asia program builds on Columbia’s EMBA Global Americas and Europe program by providing exposure to the Asian market.
The program is a joint MBA program between Columbia Business School, London Business School and the University of Hong Kong.
Although most classes for the EMBA Global Asia program are in Hong Kong, students also take classes in New York City and London.
Students earn a joint MBA, and have access to alumni, from all three schools.
The key features of the EMBA Global Asia program include:
1. 20-month program with one intake in May.
2. Class meetings in New York City, London, and Hong Kong
3. Faculty from each school equally involved in teaching courses in each city
4. Access to elective courses from each school
5. Ability to study in one additional international city as part of the program
